Ready for the next step... "trying" May 2012

So... we're ready to start on our next season, we want to become parents!!  off course everyone around you asks, when are you getting married? we are married now, next... when are you having babies? well we are now ready for that too.. lets see how that goes.. Jason claims he never thought about this, or wanted to in the past but now he's ready, and so am I. Secretly I have always in my heart desired to be a mother and birth a child more than anything, but now, that I have the perfect someone next to me I am definetly ready! Lets hope that it is in the Lords plan also.
And the waiting begins.... Nothing... another month... NOTHING... AND over and over again..

This verse gave us hope in the midst of the new found storm..
"For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end- it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay"- Habakkuk 2:3

The pastor of our church Forest Hill, likes to use this verse when we get into a waiting period of our life, here we are waiting to get pregnant, and nothing. But this verse reminds us that we shall certainly wait because it is not about our timing but Gods timing, so its not late, its just not the appointed time yet.

October 14, 2011 Wedding Bells in the Fall Air

On a beautiful Fall day I walked down the aisle to see the man of my dreams standing in the altar, with my dad by my side holding my hand ready to give me away, and there he was Jason, waiting to take me as his wife in the presence of God with our friends and family as our witness.

St. Mary's Chapel, Charlotte, NC
As we said those vows to each other: 'til death do us apart, in health and illness, rich or poor', then little did we know the true meaning of those words, that we swear to each other forever in the presence of God.

"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things"- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

But there and then we believed in our happily ever after, that nothing could come against us or our love, we thought we were on top of the world. But yet we danced to our first song as husband and wife, to 'I Cross My Heart' by George Strait. and went on to our honey moon to Punta Cana, DR to begin the married season of our life!

She said YES!!! JUNE 7, 2011

SHE SAID YES!!!!!!
On our one year anniversary Jason prepared a beautiful romantic night, where at the end of a perfect night, he pulled a small box, got down on one knee and asked me the most important question of our life's... to be his wife...
Needless to say I said Yes!

On to the next season... wedding planning, and most importnatly seeing what God had in store for our future as a married couple!
P.S: I have never seen him so nervous before!!

"Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh"- Genesis 2:24

How it all Began... MAY 2010

Jason McDowell and Laura Quintana meet in the summer of 2010... fast forward to September, Jason brings Laura home to meet the parents, and their love story begins.

As Jasons mother said once: "I prayed for a good Christian wife for my son, not knowing that God's perfect timing was waiting for her to grow up to be old enough to be his wife"- Barbabra McDowell
God was gracious enough to give us both loving parents who continue to give us a great example of a good marriage based in Christian beliefs.
